Easy Onion Soup
If you love Onion Soup here is a simple and delicious way to fix it. I used my homemade beef broth that I had in the freezer but you can use canned beef broth or even chicken broth to make this. Serve with fresh bread sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and toasted in the oven.

Just being mosey…. but you don’t have any chili recipes coming in the near future do ya?? Cause chili is addictive lol!
Here is our favorite chili recipe. I need to do a separate post just for the Chili. We always make a meal with the pasta for Cincinnati Chili one night and then eat the chili by itself the next day. http://indianeskitchen.com/2017/05/22/cincinnati-chili
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Yum! And so easy to make! 🙂
It’s really was! Thanks Robin!
Yes with you all the way but I toast lightly good sliced bread. i then grill it with lots of cheese on top. When cool lay it in top of onion soup just as you say. When frying so gentle the onions add first a teaspoon of sugar to the onions then fry until golden transparent before adding flour. Now lay out the cheesy toasted grilled cheese bread with lots to makea lid almost.Back in oven and bake for as long as it takes to make a crust. Serve in the bowl to table and in that true French manner break the crust in one tiny corner with spoon and pour in good red wine one half glass. Then break in to bits for each to enjoy with soup. I had this in Paris back streets and it was a party with class with this onion soup and the ceremony of crust breaking went to the Mayors wife. Not just soup but pour passion for it. Loved onion soup and we grow fields of them here. Yes I make it like this each time when friends arrive in summer later days such as now;.
I love to read your replies! You always have such great information and new ways to fix recipes! Don’t ever stop. I even read your comments to my husband, we really enjoy them!
Looks easy enough and I do love onion soup in the winter. I love Sir Kevin’s addition of red wine too. Yum, of course I always add croutons and cheese to mine.
Ahhhhh I forgot to put my croutons in mine! I didn’t have bread and was going to do that…lol
I think this might be dinner tonight.
It was mine last night and it is so filling. It must be from all the onions!
It is raining here, I want to take this delicious soup right now. 🙂
We are having the leftovers for lunch, come on over!
This looks good…Sir Kevin had some good thoughts! I will eat this, but Mr Hubster won’t…More for me! Yay!
I ate it all myself too! I didn’t mind not sharing..hahahaha Sir Kevin has really great ideas all the time.

Ooh, I like, I like! Will try to make it today! Ah, I had never thought of adding the butter. Will finally get to use my gluten-free flour for the flour part. Thanks, Diane!
Awesome! Butter makes everything taste better..lol Enjoy it is really good!
I do like onion soup, with the nice crust on it and some nice bread – I am lazy and use canned soup – I am inspired by your recipes, but feel like a sloth sometimes. 🙂
Oh believe me, I do too! If I didn’t have a hubby that did all the dishes for me, I wouldn’t be blogging….lol He doesn’t complain because he loves to eat what I make…lol
You are lucky indeed and I don’t have a dishwasher, so it is me cleaning up whatever mess I make and I hate doing dishes – takes a lot of time, so … I cut corners so I don’t make a big mess whenever I can.
I don’t blame you!
This looks so great!! I will try it ! Thank you! 🤗😋
