Cheesy Pizza Chicken Breasts

Cheesy Pizza Chicken Breasts are as delicious as they look! I don’t know what’s better, the fabulous taste or how quick & easy this is to make! Seriously, you can make these delicious Cheesy Pizza Chicken Breasts from start to finish in about 1/2 hour!

Ingredients

Add the parsley, oregano and garlic powder to the pizza sauce.

Mix until combined.

Spray a 2 quart casserole dish with cooking oil and add the chicken breasts.

Pour the pizza sauce mixture over the chicken completely covering them.

Bake in a 425 degree oven, with a lid, for

15 minutes and the chicken is about 150 degrees.

Place the cheese slices on top of the chicken breasts.

Bake 10 minutes, uncovered, or until the chicken is 165 degrees.

Remove to a serving plate and place the extra pizza sauce on the side then serve.

 

Cheesy Pizza Chicken Breasts

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley (or 2 tsp dried)
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 – 15 oz can pizza sauce
  • 2-4 slices mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl combine the pizza sauce, parsley, oregano and garlic powder.
  3. Spray a 2 quart casserole dish with cooking oil.
  4. Place the chicken breasts side by side in the casserole dish.
  5. Pour the pizza sauce mixture over the chicken breasts completely covering them.
  6. Bake, covered, for 15 minutes or until the chicken is 150 degrees.
  7. Remove the lid and place the cheese on top of the chicken breasts.
  8. Bake, uncovered, for 10 more minutes or until the chicken is 165 degrees.

  2. Delicious (looking). I used to make a variation of these using cheddar, which I would put atop lightly-toasted wheat bread. Same principle, though. 🙂

  3. Okay, I could totally handle this. My only question is, does the grease from the chicken mix with the pizza sauce and make it weird/yucky, particularly when it comes to any potential leftovers?

    • This is boneless skinless chicken breast and I didn’t really have any visible grease from mine. I do cut all visible fat off of the raw meat before cooking. I hope this helps!
