Simple Syrup Fruit Bowl

Whether you are over loaded with your own homegrown fruit or you can buy cheap fruit from a farm market or a store, turn it into this delicious Simple Syrup Fruit Bowl for a great snack, side dish, dessert, potluck or picnic!

Ingredients

Place your clean-cut up fruit into a large bowl.

Make a simple syrup by placing the sugar and water into a saucepan.

Place it on a burner over medium heat stirring frequently.

Once the syrup turns clear remove it from the burner.

This should happen before it boils.

Add the lemon juice, stir and let cool.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups diced and seedless watermelon
  • 4 cups diced cantaloupe
  • 16 oz clean and sliced strawberries
  • 2 cups clean blueberries
  • 1 pint clean raspberries

SYRUP:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Directions

  1. Place your clean-cut up fruit into a large bowl.
  2. Make a simple syrup by placing the water and sugar into a small saucepan.
  3. Place the saucepan over a medium heat stirring frequently.
  4. Once the syrup turns clear remove from the heat. This should happen before it boils.
  5. Add the lemon juice, stir and let cool.
  6. Pour the syrup over the prepared fruit and toss gently with a large spoon.
  7. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
