Easy Chicken Gravy

Do you hate making gravy and no matter what you do it never turns out or it is full of lumps? Then you need to try this simple and fool-proof gravy recipe. Seriously, not one lump was in mine. This recipe makes 3/4 cup so it is perfect for two people or you can double or even triple it to make even more.

Ingredients

 

In a small bowl, combine the bouillon, flour and pepper. Mix until combined.

Store this mixture in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to six months.

 

TO MAKE THE GRAVY:

Makes 3/4 cup ready to serve gravy, double or triple to make more.

In a small saucepan, over medium heat melt 1-1/2 Tbsp of the butter.

Add 2 Tbsp. of the dry gravy mix.

Cook, whisking constantly, until it turns a

light brown (about 1 minute).

Add the water slowly whisking continuously until smooth.

Continue cooking, still whisking, until the gravy boils.

Boil another two minutes or until thickened.

Basic dry gravy mix:

  • 3 Tbsp. chicken bouillon powder
  • 3/4 cup plus 1 Tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp pepper

Additional Ingredients for each batch you make:

  • 1-1/2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 cup cold water

Directions

  1. To make the dry mix: In a small bowl, combine the bouillon, flour and pepper mixing well. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to six months.
  2. To prepare the gravy: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add 2 Tbsp. of the dry mix (to make 3/4 cup finished gravy). Cook and whisk until lightly brown, about 1 minute. Slowly whisk in the cold water until smooth. Continue to whisk and heat until boiling. Boil and whisk another 2 minutes or until thickened and then serve.
