It is unbelievable how this tasted so good with only three ingredients and I cooked it in the slow cooker! It does not get any simpler than this and the meat…..well it was absolutely fall apart tender and the flavor was amazing! Fix this with rice or potatoes, add a vegetable and you have a complete delicious meal.

  1. Though I finally left slow-cooking to my wife and her more usual device, I must note my ownership and use for decades of a Rival Slow-Cook Countertop OVEN. Ceramic, polycarbonate door, 2 speeds=get the food hot, let it slow cook.

Owned for about 40-50 years, now. Few years back, I emailed Rival asking if they will ever be doing an updated model? No one there knew what I was talking about.

  2. I have a roast that I was just going to cook with onion soup in the slow cooker, but I am going to try this instead. I will let you know how it turns out.

  3. Ohh… I love slow cooks but does your slow cook make your meat soft and shredded? In your photo, your meats are still in cubes. I work full time and every time I come home to my slowcook meals, my meats are all shredded. Any tips on how to not let that happen?

    • Melanie I cut my meat into cubes before cooking. It stayed in cubes but was super tender. You could stab it with a fork and was very tender. If you cut the cubes too small they tend to shred more. I like to cut mine 1” to 1-1/2” in size and this is how mine turn out. Also may be the type of meat your use. I like to use chuck roast for this. I hope this helps!
