Easy Refrigerator Pickled Onions

Easy Refrigerator Pickled Onions can be made in a few minutes, eaten in one hour or sit for up to two weeks in the refrigerator before eating them. They are a great condiment for just about anything! Try them on sandwiches, sausage, hot dogs, hamburgers, pork, salads …… you get the picture!

Ingredients

Thinly slice a red onion.

Stuff the onion into a pint glass container with a resealable lid.

In a small bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients until the salt and sugar is dissolved.

Pour the mixture over the onions, covering the onions.

Put on the lid and let them sit on the counter for one hour.

You can eat them now or put them in the

refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Ingredients

1 medium red onion

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1 cup water

1 Tbl sugar

1-1/2 tsp Kosher salt

Directions

  1. Thinly slice the red onion.
  2. Stuff the onion into a pint glass container that has a resealable lid.
  3. In a small bowl mix the rest of the ingredients stirring until the sugar and salt dissolve.
  4. Pour liquid into the jar covering the onions completely.
  5. Put on the resealable lid and let sit on the counter for one hour.
  6. Put the jar in the refrigerator.

You can eat these any time from one hour up to two weeks from the refrigerator.

Refrigerator Pickled Onions are delicious on things like hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, sandwiches, sausage, pork………etc.

  1. I finally got around to trying this and loved them. They also looked so beautiful in the jar. I was out of cider vinegar so used the white that I had and it worked fine. I bought some cider vinegar to make another round. Great recipe and so easy!!!
