Mason Jar Milk Steamer
Stop paying that ridiculous price for a Cappuccino or Latte at the coffee shop! You can make a homemade Cappuccino or Latte with the help from your microwave! Yes you read that right. All you need is a Mason Jar Milk Steamer, your microwave to steam the milk & make the froth and a shot of espresso.
They sell espresso machines for different prices and a cheap one will do. If you don’t want to invest in a froth maker, make the froth in the microwave with your Mason Jar Milk Steamer for either a Latte or a Cappuccino. OK all the Mason Jar Milk Steamer is, is a Mason jar with a lid and metal ring but this is pretty cool so read on!
The difference between a Latte and a Cappuccino is the amount of steamed milk that is in them. I use to work at Dunkin Donuts and this is their way of making them. Of course when I made mine it had caramel added! I took the picture and information below from their website: http://www.dunkindonuts.com.
Ingredients – espresso and milk
Make your espresso and pour it into a heat proof mug or glass.
I am doing it in the measuring cup so you can see it.
Pour milk into a Mason Jar, not more than halfway full.
Put the lid on the Mason Jar with the screw ring and tighten.
Shake the milk for 30 seconds.
Remove the screw ring and lid and place the Mason Jar in the microwave.
Microwave on high for 30 seconds this will stabilize the foam.
Immediately pour the steamed milk and froth into your
espresso, saving the froth for the top then serve.

It is the craziest thing the way this works, but it does!
It’s really great, because though these are so good, they’re such a ripoff at the coffee shop so I never get them, but homemade? Woo!! Have plenty of mason jars, just have to get some milk this weekend, I’m salivating at the prospect of this!!
Do you have an espresso machine? They do sell instant espresso if you don’t have an espresso machine. If you really like them it is so worth investing in one.
Yup! I thrifted an espresso machine from Goodwill for only a few dollars a few years ago, and you are so right! I would pay full price knowing how much I now love it lol!!
I love Goodwill! I have only been lucky enough to buy a Cuisinart ice cream maker so far.
Yuppers, Goodwill has some great deals sometimes! That’s pretty darn lucky, can’t imagine how good homemade ice cream is : )
It’s pretty darn good! I have made strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and chocolate chip!
I am going to try this method – only with tea!
