Oatmeal To Go

Whether you eat Oatmeal every day or just occasionally, this is a quick and delicious way to fix oatmeal at work or at home. You won’t ever buy the processed instant oatmeal again after you taste this!

Ingredients

Add the dry ingredients to

a bowl, Mason Jar or other

heat resistant container.

Boil water and pour it into the

oatmeal. Using a spoon mix well.

Cover with a lid or plastic wrap.

Let sit for 5 minutes, stir and serve.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup quick cooking or minute oats
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2/3 cup boiling water
  • Optional – raisins, nuts, dried fruits, milk….etc.

Directions

  1. In a bowl, jar or any heat resistant container, add all of the dry ingredients and any of the dry optional ingredients.
  2. Boil the water and pour into the oatmeal.
  3. Stir, cover with plastic wrap or a lid and let sit for five minute and stir again before serving.

  1. Thank you for this. I’m working on replacing my high calorie, high fat morning pastry during the work week with oatmeal and blueberries. I buy the box of Quaker oatmeal packets that come in three different flavors. I’d love to get it closer to natural. And this does the trick. Thank you again.

  2. You visited my site the other day and I wanted to swing over and say hello. This breakfast sounds pretty delish. I like soaked oats with unsweetened almond milk (and skip the b. sugar we have a diabetic in the house). Like the travel jar idea a lot! Thanks for sharing.

  3. While I am not a real fan of oatmeal I do eat the steel cut oats occasionally. But that takes at least 1/2 hour to make. There is also an old story of mine about nagging my mother to buy Maypo.
