The meat just falls apart with a fork with this Slow Cooker Pork Roast & Sauerkraut. This is a family tradition that my Mom always made on New Years Day and still does. If you have had Sauerkraut before and don’t like the taste because it is too sour, fix it the way I do. I always rinse my Sauerkraut before I cook it.

  1. We are on the same page! I also made pork and sauerkraut on New Years Day. I don’t always but noticed I had a pork shoulder hogging up the freezer downstairs. Sometimes I swap the sauerkraut with cilantro and we turn it into tacos.

  2. Never thought to do this in a slow cooker. My grandma and dad always roasted it in the oven, so that’s what I do. I’ll have to try it this way.

    • I like it rinsed before I cook it. A lot of people don’t rinse it. Totally different taste either way however, cooking it in the slow cooker is SO GOOD!! Have a great day Chris!
