Sloppy Joe Sandwich
Do you know where the name Sloppy Joe Sandwich came from? According to legend, back in the 1930’s, there was a cook named Joe at a café in Sioux City, Iowa. Joe added tomato sauce to his loose meat sandwich hence the name Sloppy Joe Sandwich.
How do you like to eat your Sloppy Joe Sandwich, with bread or bun? I have to have mine on a bun. I had to work so my husband made this sandwich for himself for supper. He even took the pictures so I could blog about it.
Ingredients
Dice half a onion and half a green pepper.
In a large frying pan over medium heat cook the ground beef, green pepper and onion until the ground beef is no longer pink and vegetables are tender.
Drain any grease and add the rest of the ingredients.
Simmer until the liquid evaporates to the thickness you like.
Serve on a bun, bread or what ever you would like.

You can never go wrong with a sloppy joe!😊
Right! So quick, easy and good!
It is a perfect dinner for kids of every age 🙂
Hahaha that’s for sure Rhiannon!
Here in SPAM Land, another option is over steamed rice, with kimchi on the side. Hee hee.:)
You are the second person that mentioned rice and let me tell you….awesome idea!!!!!!! Thank you!!
This looks incredible! Yumm thanks soo much for sharing. Interesting trivia on the origins of the name btw i had no idea 🙂
You’re welcome! It is funny how names begin.
This recipe I´m cooking a little different, but this is the great on Sloppy Joe. 🙂
Nobody I gave it to eat, didn´t like it. It is a really great dinner for everybody.
That’s wonderful Rhiannon! I’m glad you made it to your liking. I rarely make a recipe like it is posted. I love to adapt them to our likes too. It sounds like you are a good cook!
Thank you for your words. I hope I am cooking well enough. 🙂
There are so many delicious recipes, it is hard to get enough time for everything.
For example in autumn I like cooking pumpkin-goulash (steirisches Kürbisgulasch mit Käferbohnen) or in Summer a “light avocado salad according to Haitian pattern”.
Maybe this are recipes you and your beloved family and friends like them too. 🙂
Have a great sunday and all the best to you 🙂
