Peanut Butter Cookies With Chocolate Stars

What a great combination, soft Peanut Butter Cookies with Chocolate Stars! I can’t find chocolate stars in our town anymore so, once again, we drive to Amish Country for them. A lot of people put Hershey Kisses in their peanut butter cookies but I make these cookies for Christmas and the chocolate stars are a Christmas tradition in my house. These are another family favorite that I have made for decades. They also freeze well as long as you freeze them on a baking sheet first and then put them in a freezer bag.

  1. These sound wonderful! Have you ever tried them with cashew butter? I have a peanut allergy so PB is out of the question. I’m wondering if you can substitute without a problem.

  2. They look delicious – not sure about some of the photos of the preparation though. Taken out of context some of them could be of anything other than cookies in the making!

  3. Here in Canada, we have chocolates called Rosebuds that look like the stars. I think I will try these as I am in the middle of my Christmas Baking right now.

  4. Boy, this takes me back. When I was a kid, this type of cookie was always around for the holidays. But I can’t tell you now how many years it’s been since I’ve had one! I love the look of the star more than the kiss – nice idea.

  5. These are my sister’s favorite cookies, except she always cheats and uses store-bought cookie dough. These look great and I’m sure they would freeze more satisfactorily than the ones made with ready-made dough. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
