Boiled Cider
Have you ever tasted delicious Boiled Cider? I wish I could have bottled up the smell in our house and the taste…..WOW! I started with 2 gallons of cider and gently boiled it down to 2-3/4 pints! That’s it, so simple! Boiled Cider is a syrup that is used over ice cream, oatmeal, yogurt, use instead of honey, brush on grilled veggies, mix with BBQ sauce or whatever you want to use it with! Store it in the refrigerator in a jar with a tight lid for up to 3 months.

Am I glad I am following you Diane…fruit infused Voddie and now boiled cider what next I ask myself….Can’t wait!
Hahaha I love making different things. Seriously this is amazing! You can also do it with apple juice but cider has a more intense taste. Thanks Carol!
Diane Love this idea. Who would have thought? Yum. I am going to try it this weekend.
It is the most intense amazing flavor! It takes time boiling it down. The first time I did 2 gallons I had it simmering instead of boiling and it took 7 hours! But the house smelled great the entire time…lol
*Note: The original recipe calls for unpasteurized apple cider. But it works with pasteurized also, if you add one washed, cored, sliced, but NOT peeled apple to the boiling mix, then lift it out near the end with a slotted spoon and eat immediately over ice cream. or yogurt. or on toast. YUM!!
Sound great !
It is! Thanks Megala.
Never heard of thus. Interesting.
Very intense flavor! Great with all kinds of food!
Thanks for the reminder to get some cider at the farm stand. Love the idea of using this in BBQ sauce! 🙂
You’re welcome! So much flavor so don’t be afraid to try it on anything!
I have never heard of this, but I can see how it would be amazing.
Delicious in so many ways! It can be made with apple juice too.
Looks great…..love to try it 🙂
Very easy to make!
I have boiled down expensive Balsamic Vinegar to make a glaze. Never thought to do it with cider. I bet it is amazing!
Oh my I never heard of boiling down Balsamic Vinegar! I bet that makes a great glaze!
It does, and you barely need more then a few drops. We were buying it but it was $40 dollars for a small bottle. (For the good stuff) We decided to make our own.
This would taste so scintillating 😀
Sure is! Liquid Gold is what I like to call it…lol
This sounds amazing and so easy. I use honey all time so i like the idea of trying this for a change and so easy to make.
The flavor is absolutely amazing! I have never had anything like it.

I live a couple of hours from Apple Hill in Placerville California. They sell apple cider, apple donuts, apple and berry pies, turnovers, fritters and all sorts of delicious treats. It’s family friendly and you can also find wineries there too.
Here is my latest blog about it.

Something new, nice.
I never thought of this. Looks tastey.
It has so much flavor Christy. Thanks!
Never tried this. How do you use it in cooking 🧑🍳
I use it on things like oatmeal, ice cream, pancakes and yogurt. For cooking I use it in place of honey in a recipe.
