Beef Jerky
My Granddaughter has been bugging me to make some Beef Jerky. She will be here tonight so I made sure it was ready for when she gets here.
Beef Jerky is so expensive to buy and so easy to make. It is time-consuming but makes a lot of jerky. I don’t use a jerky gun, I just slice beef. I slice it partially frozen because it is so easy to slice this way. I make the marinade, soak the sliced beef overnight, drain the marinade and dehydrate. That’s all there is to it. I either vacuum pack them or put it in small serving size sandwich bags and then in a large freezer bag. I always keep them in the refrigerator or freeze them to keep them fresh. They thaw out in just a few minutes.

Wow. I was just thinking of beef jerky the other night and wondering how to make it. It is a big business in Florida.

I don’t know why they charge so much for it!

It is also easily a mail order item if you wanted to start your own business.

Thanks but I cook for fun.

I understand. We owned a cupcakerie for 4 years. It is a lot of work and somehow the fun goes out of baking along the way.

This might be my favorite post of yours so far – I am really looking forward to making this _ especially because a lot of beef jerky has chemicals added

Be prepared to make it more than once! It is very addicting! Definitely no chemicals added in this one.

My granddaughter begs me for this. She’s only 6! She’s only here once a week so I freeze it so I have some for her. Thanks!
