This pie is a chocolate lovers dream! Today was my daughter’s birthday and Labor Day so I invited my family over for dinner to celebrate both occasions. I made this delicious Easy Hershey Bar Pie and a white cake for dessert for my daughter’s birthday. I found this recipe on http://www.hershey.com, they have some wonderful recipes. This is a good recipe for beginners and experienced cooks.

Ingredients

Break up the candy bars into little pieces. Microwave at 50% power for one minute. Stir well and if not completely melted, microwave more at 10 seconds intervals stirring after each time. Try not to get this too warm. I still had small pieces in mine but I kept stirring until it was completely melted instead of microwaving it more. Let the melted chocolate sit a minute to cool.

Add the Cool Whip to the cooled chocolate and fold…NOT STIR…them together.

Spoon the filling into the prepared chocolate pie crust.

Optional: Using a vegetable peeler, peel the Hershey Chocolate Bar making chocolate curls and pieces. Sprinkle them on top of the pie. Refrigerate for at least six hours.

Ingredients

4 Hershey Chocolate Bars (5 if you want chocolate curls on top)

1 – 6 oz prepared chocolate pie crust

1 –  8 oz container Cool Whip, thawed

1 can whipped cream, optional

Directions

Break the candy bars into little pieces and place them into a medium size microwave safe bowl. Microwave at medium (50%) power for one minute. Stir and if the chocolate is not melted completely, repeat for 30 seconds intervals until melted. Be careful not to microwave too much or it will get too hot. I still had small chocolate pieces in mine but as I continued to stir them they melted. Stir until creamy and smooth.

Add Cool Whip to the chocolate. With a large spoon or spatula, fold…DO NOT STIR….chocolate into the Cool Whip. Once combined pour the mixture into the prepared chocolate pie crust.

Optional: Using a vegetable peeler, peel a room temperature chocolate bar making curls and small strips of chocolate. Sprinkle them on top of the pie. Cover and refrigerate at least six hours.

Optional: Top the outer rim of the pie with whipped cream and serve.
