Samurai 360 Knife

My husband was given this knife by his mother. I thought it looked like a wonderful knife. He read the directions and said it was too much work just to clean it….hahaha men! So I thought I would give it a try. I had a sink full of fresh rhubarb from our garden. I always wash my rhubarb, cut it into small pieces and freeze it into two cup bags for baking all year long.

The first thing I needed to do was disassemble and wash the new knife. It was so complicated to get apart that I had to read the directions to figure it out! I don’t usually have to do that. Once I read the directions it seemed easier to do. I have to admit, it came with plenty of safety features like a blade cover and a stand, however, taking it apart to clean, in my opinion, was very dangerous.

That is a circular blade that is very sharp. The handle had to be taken off completely which I found not very safe to do.

I started cutting my Rhubarb, which is about like cutting an onion. I had trouble rolling the blade through the rhubarb but found it very easy to just push the blade into the rhubarb like chopping it. I’m sure this was due to the sharpness of the blade. As I continued to cut, the locks that hold the blade on kept loosening…..not very safe and annoying! It did this over and over again. When I finished cutting the rhubarb, I didn’t bother cleaning the gadget because I threw it away. I figured it wasn’t worth a trip to the emergency room because I know I would have ended up cutting myself. A sharp knife is what I will continue to use. Just my personal opinion!

  1. I was happy to read your review. I have rheumatoid arthritis with painful hands and was contemplating this as a handy tool. Think I’ll pass–doesn’t sound like it will accomplish my goal. Thanks so much!
