Herbed Cast Iron Steak

This was the best steak I have ever cooked! I have had them on the grill, under the broiler and in a cast iron pan but not like this! I love rosemary and thyme and they are probably my two favorite herbs. I just happen to have them both growing in our garden this year. I was thinking how it would taste to infuse my favorite two herbs into butter and fry my steak…….Oh my gosh! Not only was the taste amazing, the little cooked herb pieces were delicious as well. I will definitely be making my steak this way again!

Preheat your cast iron pan over medium heat. Add the butter until it starts to melt then add the rosemary and thyme.

Salt and pepper your room temperature steak on both sides and carefully lay on top of the herbs. Cook according to how well done you like your steak turning over halfway through.

Remove to a plate, let rest for 5 minutes and dig in! Letting it rest keeps the juices in the steak.

    • Yes I bought an entire set from a young girl selling her grandmas set because she passed away. They needed a lot of elbow grease and seasoning but for $15.00 I wasn’t going to complain!!!!!

  1. My parents just bought me a three month membership to a mail order “steak of the month” club. Someone must have squealed and told them I’d been eating boiled potatoes dipped in barbecue sauce swiped from the fridge at work. This will be the first recipe I try when the first package of beefy luxury arrives at the end of November!
