Broccoli, Rice & Cheese Casserole

I was given this recipe by my mother in law years ago and although I have made a few minor preparation changes, it is one of my favorites. This is a great potluck recipe. You can make up everything ahead of time, refrigerate and pop it in the oven when you’re ready.

Broccoli, Rice & Cheese Casserole



1 cup rice, uncooked

1 jar Cheez Whiz, 6-8 ounces

1 stick butter

1/2 cup chopped celery

1# frozen broccoli

1/4 cup chopped onions

2 cans cream of mushroom soup


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook the rice and broccoli according to package directions and let cool. Melt butter in small pan over medium heat and add celery and onions, sauté until almost tender. Remove from the heat and add Cheez Whiz, stirring until completely melted. In a large bowl mix all of the ingredients together. Place into a greased casserole dish with a lid and bake for one hour.
