Pizza Casserole

This dish tastes as good as it looks. I make it with Rotini Pasta. Then I add hamburger, pizza sauce, cream of mushroom soup and all the pizza fixings you want like bacon, onion, pepperoni, green pepper, mushroom etc. It is also a meal that can be made up ahead of time so that all you have to do is put it in the oven. This is another kid friendly recipe although I make it just for us two old people! Another one of Terry’s favorites.

Pizza Casserole



16 oz. rotini pasta

1# hamburger

1 small onion, diced

1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2-15 oz. cans pizza sauce

1-10 oz. can cream of mushroom soup

6 oz. sliced pepperoni

1/2 cup each of your choice, diced: green pepper, mushrooms, bacon etc.

1/2 tsp Italian seasonings


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large pot over medium heat boil pasta until al dente then drain. In a large fry pan cook hamburger, bacon (until cooked through), onion and any other veggie ingredients until tender. Do not add pepperoni yet.  In a large bowl combine pizza sauce, Italian seasoning and soup. Add hamburger mixture and pasta. In a large oven safe casserole dish, spoon in 1/3 of the pasta mixture. Place 1/3 of the pepperoni slices close to each other all over the top. Repeat layer 2 more times. Bake with a lid for 30 minutes. Remove lid and sprinkle cheese on top, replace lid. Let sit until cheese melts and serve.
